Case Studies
The Leadership Team
Skimstone Arts’ Leadership Team is a group of more experienced members of Young Artists Collective/Echo Artists and Assistant Project Managers who meet each week to discuss matters important to them, and Skimstone Arts.
This includes helping to plan Skimstone Arts’ workshops, projects and gigs, but also pursuing their own artistic endeavours and supporting fellow creatives in the Young Artist Collective and ECHO Artists and have more of a say in what Skimstone Arts is and does.
The Leadership Team includes:
-
Magpie T’Gai, writer, rapper, musician and actor
-
Joseph Hodgson, writer
-
Nicole Davis, singer, songwriter, musician and performer
-
Peter Saaremets, Lead Musician at Skimstone Arts
Many of the team have worked with Skimstone Arts for several years before joining the Leadership Team to create work that is important to them and their community alongside the company. The opportunity to join the Leadership Team is really rewarding, and a chance to develop skills further.
Joe Hodgson said:
“At our meetings, we always do our best to take the initiative and make decisions in order to benefit the ongoing work of Skimstone Arts. Additionally however, we also have our own goals and start new projects accordingly. Currently (As of July 2021), we have begun work on Reality Boots’ next album, a huge project which presents many challenging tasks. This is a really exciting project, and we’re always looking to share our work to ensure that we are not only transparent in our process, but we’re also sharing our passion for what we do. To this end, every meeting we have is recorded through our Leadership Minutes, and we are collating our activities over each quarter into a report to present to Skimstone Arts’ Board of Trustees”
